I can remember standing in one of the biggest favelas in Rio de Janeiro, looking around me, taking in each image my mind cast its eyes over. With my small point-and-shoot camera in hand, I felt an urge to replicate the sights and emotions I experienced through the lens. When I returned home and had the film processed, a transformation occurred within me. I now had a tangible representation of what my eyes had seen, a reminder of the profound changes in my heart and mind during that trip.

Since that summer in 2004, I have embarked on a gradual journey into photography. Over the past few years, a few constants have remained: my passion for capturing the essence of people and my desire to convey the feelings and emotions that resonated with me at the moment the photo was taken. My heart and mind continue to be drawn to the diverse situations of people around the globe.

I have been fortunate in my travels, more recently embracing opportunities to explore the world intentionally as a photographer. I cherish the chance to share what I observe and how these experiences affect me, portraying them through my photographs. As I look to the future, I am eager to see where this journey leads and the connections it fosters. I can confidently say that during my travels, I have met some of the most remarkable individuals, and you may find their faces featured in the next few pages.
